Note : Adding the Client Version column to the Access Management Console while viewing session information is useful in determining the versions of the Citrix ICA Client currently in use in your environment.

Resolved my issue. Danke, aus Europa! I don't remember what the settings are. Is the ISA client installed on any of these machines? If so is it configured for auto discovery. Also look for an WPAD servers. These are IIS servers that have a file that sets the proxy to redirect the client. That was the one that got me. I thought my IE settings were clearly set to auto and no machine proxy was set.

The WPAD file on a server caused the license validation for office to fail because it cannot tolerate blind redirection during the license validation. It drove me and a dozen support techs at Microsoft crazy for three weeks.

I can also download the wpad. TMG should be configured to take over all clients. FOr some reason it doess not seem to be taking control. I am not really up to speed on TMG but someone else in this forum can probably add more to this issue. I am curious. How are you connecting clients to the Internet? Do you now have an external firewall that is directly connected to the LAN? Someone before me tried to turn off the server and whole lot of things broke so I took over and began investigation.

The list above is of servers still accessing ISA servers. Dang, this is driving me nuts. Are you sure your new firewall is not behind the ISA servers. It must be connected directly to the LAN. You also need to discover the other kinds of redirection being done by ISA.

ISA can do header redirection among other things. When you say bad things you need to look at what they are s they can tell you what needs to be reconfigured. Remember that many services use static proxy stings. Now that you mentioned it, I am digging some old documents to check the configuration and implementation of proxy, I think it was clients hitting firewall first and then going to ISA.

I will post my findings. Are there any registry settings for ISA on client side that can tell why a particular server is looking at ISA servers? GPresults fetched nothing. If an application or service has grabbed a proxy it will not reset until the server is restarted. Servers that seldom get restarted can hold old proxy settings. Most modern services do not. Older ones may. ISA doesn't use registry keys on clients.

It uses native client settings except if you install the ISA client. Do you have central Symantec management? It is liklley configured to use static proxy. Remove or change the Symantec central proxy setting and that should return to non-proxy operation. I cant see any other reason why these servers are not talking to TMG, maybe they are not in the list.

The next question is;.
